Changes to my study programme

I think that having passed more than a year since I entered sociology, I already have a little clarity about the study programme.

I like that the first years are organized to be the foundation of the degree, but I have found that the first semester is too introductory. This made it a bit difficult for me to know what I was actually going to study in sociology and what I was going to do when I got out of university.

Something that would regulate is the number of compulsory readings, there are some branches in which the academic load is excessive.

In general I think that FACSO the facilities meet what is necessary to develop the classes. But the big problem is that there is no casino to eat within the same faculty, which in many cases forces you to go to other faculties of the university to get food.

This last year there have been teachers who have decided to do face-to-face evaluations since there is a fear of the use of artificial intelligence. I think their use should be encouraged rather than repressed.

In addition, for our learning I think it is better to write an essay than to do a test in a short time.

But ultimately, I think my critique of the curriculum in general is aimed at going to work and doing research in the field. The degree tends to stay a lot in theory, in the classroom, but during all the years that the degree lasts, there are few moments in which you go to the field. I think this is very important because that is where the reality is. That's why I wonder, what's the point of studying a subject that we don't know how it really develops? This is relevant because it is also related to the work of the sociologist in general. I think that the information that is produced stays a lot in the academy and is not used to intervene in realities.
